Making soap: Clean-cut fun
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Rub a dub, dub - make your own soap for the tub.
Teresa Ross owns Milago's in Hyde Park, and she said it's the perfect activity for the kids.
"We've done everything from aardvarks to armadillos to soccer balls," she said.
She said if you want to keep the kids busy and clean, they can actually create and make their own soap at her place.
"It only takes about an hour to an hour and half, and the children will leave with their bar of soap," she said.
But before you're bubbling over in soap suds – here is how to get started: Kids first pick out what scent they want, then color, shape, mix, pour and wait.
"It's great," Teresa said. "And boys and girls like it. Sometimes people think it's a girl-only activity but boys tend to it more than girls sometimes."
Little 4-year old Rowan Neff is a great example of that. He's making a red, green and blue dinosaur that smells like - well - he chose martini - juniper berry with a dash of lime.
"When you have a 4-year-old, you need a lot of things to do," His mother, Rene Neff, said.
It's truly a clean-cut project.
"He really likes arts and crafts and anything different," Neff said. "Something other than coloring is a great option."
"It's just fun," Teresa said. "It's very sensory - it involves all of your sensory, so it's more art project than science project, and they just really have a good time."
And if your little ones do get their little hands a little dirty, no biggie. Leaving Milagro's - most kids can't wait to go home and take a bath.
"That's what every mother hopes for," Teresa said.
