The Bartender is an important role within Cru Hospitality Group (CHG) that serves as a representative of the Bar to our guests. The Bartender fulfills any duties assigned to them by the management team in a professional manner.
The role of Bartender is one that can elevate the experience offered by the entire operation. This role wears many hats. Primary responsibilities are to (1) make and serve delicious beverages for guests at the bar and for servers at the service well, (2) offer an exceptional and complete experience to anyone sitting at the bar. The personality and success of a location will largely fall under the Bartender’s performance and example to their team.
A strong Lead Bartender will exhibit the following characteristics.

- Strong knowledge of food, culinary terms, and the restaurant industry

This role reports to the General Manager of the location.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Informs our customers on the quality of our products and services.
- Sells and serves cocktails, spirits, wine and beer to customers in accordance with proper guidelines regarding pour levels, recipes, and measurements.
- Sells and serves food and other menu items to customers.
- Sells and serves these products to customers in a courteous and friendly manner. Provides customers at the bar with a five star dining experience.
- Coordinates food service with the kitchen and runners.
- Uses appropriate garnishes and glassware for all beverages. Maintains proper stock and pars of said garnishes.
- Maintains a clean and organized bar at all times. Keeps bar area supplied. Wipes down bar top. Comes out from behind the bar to push in stools, check floors. Keeps the customer’s line of sight clean and clear.
- Abides by all cash handling procedures. Knows how to operate a cash register properly. Accurately accounts for every drink poured.
- Performs assigned opening and closing side work.
- Maintains pars of bev naps, straws, and other material/hardware.
- Stocks all liquor, beer, wine and NA products for the Bar in their correct location.
- Professional handling of the Guest Relationship: includes inquiries, complaints, compliments.
- Communicates all 86’d items to managers in a timely manner
- Communicates needs and comments of the guest to management.
- Serves alcohol responsibly.
- Assist in training new Bar team members.
- Assists in training Servers.
- Continues to learn and educate themselves on beverage, food, and industry trends
- Maintains proper health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards.
- Ensure all CHG standards are upheld or exceeded
